7 Reasons to Live in Mansfield TX

With nearly 70,000 residents, Mansfield is not the small town that it once was. The growth to the area stems from the proximity to both downtown Dallas, Fort Worth and Arlington.

Even with all the recent growth, Mansfield still has a small-town feel. Mansfield is able to provide its residents with the convenience of major retailers and restaurants, while still providing local family owned shops and restaurants. Beautiful and extensive parks are a huge benefit for the residents of Mansfield. Children can play on the numerous playgrounds, 460 miles of trails are perfect for exercise and exploration and pavilions provide the perfect space for parties and family gatherings. There are many family oriented events and festivals throughout the year.

Mansfield has multiple sporting facilities too, including baseball fields, soccer fields, softball fields, a natatorium, football stadium, basketball facility and the newest addition, an ice rink. If there is a sport you are interested in, Mansfield probably has it. The City of Mansfield also does a great job hosting events year-round. From concerts, to festivals and even parades, there is always something fun to do in Mansfield. The arts are big part of the Mansfield community as well. The Mansfield ISD Center for the Performing Arts is a state of the art 5,500 seat performance hall serving the entire community with events year-round. Mansfield is also home to an outdoor theater called The Lot Downtown, a historic theater for movies and small shows called the Farr Best Theater and a traditional Cinemark Movie theater as well. It is easy to see why Mansfield, Texas was ranked the No.17 Best Places to Live by Money Magazine in 2014.

Another draw to moving to the City of Mansfield is the schools. Mansfield ISD is one of the premiere school districts in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. More than 35,000 students attend the 46 schools in the district. The schools include one pre-kindergarten academy, 23 elementary schools (grades K-4), six intermediate schools (grades 5-6), six middle schools (grades 7-8), one STEM academy, five traditional high schools, one high school for upperclassman, one career and technology academy, one alternative education center and one early college high school. The Texas Education Agency has awarded the district and accountability grade of A, the top grade awarded to school districts. One of the biggest draws of this district is the wide variety of classes offered to the students at all levels of learning. From AP classes, to career specific training, to STEM classes, to foreign languages, the district allows its students to choose a path that will benefit them the most as they seek higher education or a specified trade after graduation. Top teachers help students prepare for their future and each campus offers a wide variety of extracurricular activities to keep students engaged.
